The Programme Both public servants and private-sector employees are increasingly keen to understand the legal context in which their everyday duties take place. The Diploma in Law is a one-year, part-time programme that addresses the basic laws and legal principles that determine and influence the work of the State and private enterprise. It focuses on four key subjects and will serve as an ideal introduction for those who have no prior knowledge of law.

Audience This programme appeals to students from the public and private sector who would like to obtain a solid understanding of fundamental legal principles and subjects, including constitutional, contract, and employment law.
Accreditation The Diploma is accredited by the National University of Ireland (NUI). It is at level 7 (Special Purpose) on the National Framework of Qualification (NFQ).
Location of Delivery This Programme is delivered through a blend of evening lectures in Laois Third Level Centre, Bracklone Street, Portarlington and weekend seminars at the IPA in Dublin and self-directed study. Students receive course material for all subjects and all the essential textbooks.
Fees The course fee, which includes matriculation and examination fees, is €2,980.
