Programme OverviewThe Graduate Diploma in Digital Media Development for Education from the University of Limerick is offered to both teachers and employees of the technology sectors who wish to use digital media to support learning and to apply the principles of learning to the development of the excellent media.
Programme Aims To encourage interaction between Digital Content Providers and the Educational Community to enhance the quality of digital learning media and promote the use of digital media in teaching through familiarisation of teachers with the genesis of teaching content.
Programme Content: Semester 1 · Introduction to Digital Applications · Digital Media and Learning
Semester 2 · Digital Publishing to the Web · Pedagogical Implication of Digital Media · Digital Video Production
Duration This Graduate Diploma is a one-year, part-time study programme organised over the academic year, delivered once a week in the evenings between September and May. Location Laois Third Level Centre, Bracklone Street, Portarlington.
Award This Graduate Diploma is awarded by the University of Limerick and is placed at Level 9 on the National Framework of Qualifications. On successful completion of this Graduate Diploma, students may be eligible to progress to the Masters course.
Entry Requirements Participants are expected to have a primary degree with a good understanding and knowledge of information technology. Students entering on the prgramme will be required to have successfully completed the Prior Learning Programme Accredited Inservice in partnership with the National Centre for Technology in Education. UL NCTE Digital Media Applications Programme.
Programme Fee This course is included in the Postgraduate Skill Conversion Programme 2008/09 under the National Development Plan 2007 2013. As a result of this the fee has been greatly reduced for EU applicants. The fee for EU applicants is €2000 paid at registration. The fee covers tuition, registration and graduation costs.
